We invite you to help us shape the future of agriculture. At Syngenta, we believe every employee has a role to play in safely feeding the world and taking care of our planet. To support that challenge, the Quality/Labs team is currently seeking a Lab Technician at our St. Gabriel, LA site.
You will Provide analytical laboratory support and data to St. Gabriel production units and/or environmental operations to ensure efficient operations and production of agrochemical products. Perform analytical test methods on routine and non-routine samples and review data to ensure accuracy and integrity.
Accountabilities
Provide analytical data to support operating units in a timely and cost effective manner.
Ensure that all reported data are produced following established SOPs and QA/QC criteria.
Review and revise analytical methods with chemist, as needed.
Provides analytical support and data to production units to ensure efficient operation and production of quality products.
Provides accurate, timely, and defensible data to production units.
Ensures that all reported data are produced following established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Quality Analysis (QA)/Quality Control (QC) requirements.
Perform preventative maintenance and repair of laboratory equipment as directed.
Maintain retention sample storage area.
Assist in general housekeeping for the laboratory including proper disposal of chemicals.
Follows all safety and environmental procedures to eliminate incidents.
Reports non-conformances, according to established procedures and criteria, and assists in corrective action where appropriate.
Participates in internal and external Quality audits.
For business critical needs, on occasion, overtime coverage on nights/weekends will be required for callouts of specified analyses.
Requirements
Minimum College degree with science major (desired), or High School diploma with minimum 5 years Industrial laboratory experience
3-5 years of experience with comprehension of analytical techniques and operation of analytical laboratory instrumentation and equipment (such as GC, HPLC, GC/MS, IC, IR, Titration, particle size, GC/headspace)
Experience with SPC and laboratory data management systems (LIMS, Chemstation, etc.)
Multiple project planning
Maintain proper laboratory data documentation
Follows analytical QA/QC procedures (SOPs)
Maintains Good housekeeping and laboratory practices,

Demonstrates good recording keeping and documentation skills
