About Us
At Syngenta, we are working to build the most collaborative and trusted team in agriculture that provides leading seeds and crop protection innovations to enhance the prosperity of farmers. We are currently seeking an Irrigation Research Associate for the Seed Team in Salinas, Puerto Rico. As an Irrigation Research Associate, you will spend a large amount of your time in the field to identify and take actions of any potential problem with crop nutrition and irrigation that may jeopardize the viability of the crops.
You will enhance the prosperity of farmers by:
coordinating and supervising of agronomical activities with special emphasis on irrigation and crop nutrition, record keeping, and reporting
overseeing the supervision and training of seasonal employees on the irritation area.
Accountabilities
Assist and supervise all activities related to irrigation and crop nutrition.
Assure success of irrigation and crop nutrition program with effectiveness in use of technique as well as equipment’s.
Lookout the quality, quantity, and efficiency of the temporary employees’ performance under your supervision.
Collaborate with Agronomy team in other tasks or cross training activities such as but not limit to Land preparation, planting, IPM and equipment maintenance when necessary.
Be able to assist in Crops and Site activities according with company needs.
Demonstrate innovation by staying aware of emerging trends and recommending new processes, products, or techniques that will increase plant health, efficiencies or improve skills.
Requirements
A High school diploma or equivalent and/or relevant experience.
+5 years of experience on agronomy role leading irrigation teams and preferably seed production operations experience
Ability to lead and influence key stakeholders through challenges and opportunities; facilitates solutions
Results orientation with demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects/priorities simultaneously
Excellent communication skills to onboard, motivate and engage others at all levels of the organization.
